Los Sara Fontán
Musicians
The experimental emotion of Sara Fontán and the polyrhythmic energy of Edi Pou make up Los Sara Fontán. They do not record albums out of militancy: their terrain is live, always physical, changing and permeable to the environment, fleeing the productive routines of the industry. One of their concerts is the soundtrack of the one you want to imagine, giving freedom to the spectator to interpret and feel it in a personal and unique way.
In only two years as a duo, they have already toured Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland and Germany, including festivals of various styles such as One Of A Million, BAM, AMFest, Sound Isidro, Euphonic, as well as Do-It-Yourself, from the Liceo Mutante to the Kastanienkeller in Berlin.
The violinist's profession requires a clear understanding of Itzhak Perlman's maxim: "what you learn slowly, you forget slowly". Perhaps that is why he has waited until now to lead a project under his own name, after 25 years of living with the violin and exploring its possibilities in all kinds of styles and formats, from classical music to post-rock, passing through electronic music (Árbol), video dance (PIÑA), free improvisation (Orquesta del Caballo Ganador) or pop (Manos de Topo).
Fontán uses her violin as a starting point to reach any texture and invoke any mood. At his side, Pou (half of ZA!, referents of the European underground) takes on the challenge of converting percussion into melody and stretching the dynamics from the minuscule to the epic.
